Asuchak, a native of Kamloops, British Columbia, spent four seasons playing major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League.

Spencer Asuchak’s arrest news is trending on Reddit. Reddit reports that Spencer Asuchak of Ottawa’s ECHL affiliate Allen Americans was detained in Frisco, Texas, during a prostitution sting operation.

However, Reddit has now removed the post on the arrest. So, it’s unclear whether the report of his arrest is accurate or just a rumor.

Not to mention, forward Spencer Asuchak of the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League tested positive for methylhexaneamine, a stimulant that the World Anti-Doping Association included to its list of prohibited substances in 2009, he was given an eight-game suspension in 2011.

He is the third player suspended due to a positive drug test. Additionally, Saginaw Spirit defenseman Ryan O’Connor and Plymouth Whalers center Alex Aleardi will miss eight games.

Authorities think all three players unintentionally consumed the substance through a contaminated supplement, according to cba.ca.

According to FIFA, players must consent to blood and urine tests for illegal and recreational drugs.

Additionally, players submit to random testing once a year and potential for-cause testing, “in which players may exhibit behavior indicating the use of a prohibited substance,” and a two-year ban for first-time offenders.

Asuchak joined the Ontario Reign of the ECHL immediately after his tenure with Prince George ended, making his professional debut.

Similarly, for the Reign, he took part in three games. The following year, Asuchak joined Mount Royal University and skated there.

The lefty participated in 10 games for the Cougars, scoring 6 points (2G, 4A).

In his career, he has won a lot of awards. He won the Presidents Cup in 2014, the Kelly Cup in 2015, and 2016.

In addition, he has received recognition as the 2017 ECHL Player of the Week, the 2020 Named Team Co-Captain, the 2020 ECHL Player of the Week, and 2021 Named Team Co-Captain.

The Allen Americans first acquired Spencer Asuchak in 2013–14 as a Central Hockey League affiliate, where he made an immediate impact.

In 83 games, he scored 67 points (25G, 42A) on his way to winning the CHL championship.

The Allen Americans are the ECHL affiliate of the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild and the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild. 

Since the American team was established before the 2009–10 season, championship hockey has been the organization’s foundation.

The Red, White, and Blue have won two ECHL Kelly Cup Championships (in 2014–15 and 2015–16) and two President’s Cups in the Central Hockey League (2012-13 & 2013-14).

In addition, the Americans moved to the ECHL in 2014–15, taking Asuchak along. Since then, Asuchak has played for the Americans in 420 games and recorded 301 points.
